CGC® is excited to announce that the Signature Series team will be hosting an exclusive Private Signing event with artist and inker Keith Williams! Collectors can submit both comics and cards to this event.
Williams is the recent recipient of the 2025 Joe Sinnott Inkwell Hall of Fame Award, and studied under Will Eisner, the creator of the Spirit comic strip. With the help of Marvel artist and mentor Don Perlin, Williams started working for Marvel Comics in 1982 as a background inker with Joe Sinnott, Mike Esposito, and John Byrne. At Marvel, he became the first John Romita Raider, an art correction group. He later became an assistant editor under Jim Owlsley (Christopher Priest) on the Spider-Man group of books. The two became the first all black editorial team in Marvel's history.
Williams then became John Byrne's background artist on Alpha Flight, The Hulk, Superman, and Action Comics. He began inking regularly with the Web of Spider-Man. In between that time and after he worked on many other books at Marvel, including The Silver Surfer, She-Hulk, Warlock, Quasar, Star Trek, and X-Men; and at DC on books such as Superman and the Lobo/Mask graphic novel.
He’s also worked with Dark Horse Comics (The Mask, Star Wars: Droids), Valiant (Quantum and Woody, X-O Man), Moonstone Comics (Kolchak: The Night Stalker Chronicles, Buckaroo Banzai), King Features Syndicate (The Phantom), Avatar Press (Lady Death, Crossed), and Boglins Trading Cards, Power Comic Inc. Recently, Williams has been doing cover artwork for Green Archer Comics and has also been working on a Kickstarter Keith Williams Sketch book, which is out now. He is also the cover artist for the comic Felandra, and for Resolute Bliss Publishing.
He has received Inkwell Awards' 2023 Above and Beyond Award, for prolific achievement in the annual Joe Sinnott Inking Challenge events.
